Our Experience: We visited Lucia's on a summer day and had a seat at the bar. It was late afternoon, not quite early enough for lunch and not late enough for dinner, a time I often jokingly call "dunch." There were only a few other customers dining so it was pretty quiet, although every time we've driven by it often seems packed. It also began heavily downpouring while we were inside with hurricane like winds, so I'm sure that scared off people. Although, the storm was exciting to watch through the big glass windows they have in the front.

The inside is nice, with old classic Italian decorations like murals and statues. They have a long bar and plenty of booths for more private dining. We also noticed a function space downstairs.

Our bartender was an older gentleman who was very attentive to our needs, although on the quiet side and not much chit-chat, which we were totally okay with. There was another bartender who came in and although we weren't her guests, she was very friendly and chatted with us.

What We Loved: The food came out so fast! Not sure if it was the lack of customers at that particular time or if this is their usual pace, but I was so happy to see my food arrive that quickly. The bartender's attentiveness was great, and whenever we needed anything, he was there to get it to us in a jiffy (like more water, grated cheese, etc).

The Food: The food was DELICIOUS. I got penne with vodka sauce and as a fellow Italian who is very picky about the way my pasta is cooked, I can honestly it was perfectly al dente. The vodka sauce was so flavorful, I would definitely come back just to eat this dish again.

Tyler got the house salad with chicken and he wanted to take a bottle of the house dressing home with him it was that good. The chicken was cooked perfectly. He gobbled up the entire thing.

We were too full for dessert, but the bartender brought over these lovely pizzelle cookies with powdered sugar. Again, growing up in an Italian home and having countless memories of baking these cookies with my Nana, these treats made my heart sing and made the experience here a memorable one. Such a lovely touch of true Italian heritage!

What We Didn't Love: There really wasn't anything we didn't like.

Overall: Our time at Lucia's was a perfect way to hide from the awful thunder showers that passed by on that warm summer day. We'd driven by here a few times and always wanted to try it out, and we were so glad when we finally did. The food came quickly and was absolutely delicious and thoughtful. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the bartender was very attentive to our needs. The pizzelle cookies at the end was such a pleasant surprise. We will definitely be back!
